Chili Piper Supports More Than 100,000 Ukrainian Refugees

Led by Romanian native, Alina Vandenberghe, the company is supporting local NGO efforts in Ukraine and bordering countries

Chili Piper, a leading inbound conversion platform for revenue teams, today announced it has helped more than 100,000 Ukrainian refugees who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict with Russia. To date, more than one million have fled Ukraine per the UNHCR, the UN agency mandated to aid and protect refugees. Chili Piper is supporting local grassroots efforts in Ukraine and bordering countries through Citizens of our Planet (COOP), the company’s global nonprofit focused on creating a more equitable, inclusive and peaceful future.

“At Chili Piper, we are horrified, angered and saddened by the war in Ukraine and condemn this unjustified, unprovoked and unlawful invasion,” said Alina Vandenberghe, co-founder and CXO of Chili Piper. “In response, we have mobilized considerable resources to help the people in Ukraine, partnering with local governments, NGOs and authorities to protect displaced citizens.”

Key steps Chili Piper has taken to support Ukrainians amid the crisis, include:

  • Supporting Local NGOs – Chili Piper has worked closely with local NGOs in Ukraine and in neighboring countries to ensure refugees have access to basic necessities, such as food, hygiene supplies and medicines. To that end, Chili Piper built BRIDGE, a tech platform that connects NGOs requesting supplies with those looking to help and provide them. Chili Piper has also donated funds to the Romanian United Fund which is matching all donations made up to $30,000. Through COOP, Chili Piper has also raised nearly $200,000 in donations for local NGOs, and plans to raise at least $1 million total. The funds have helped provide basic necessities to refugees. Additionally, the funds have been used to establish shelters along borders and to pay for buses to safely evacuate Ukrainians.
  • Relocation Information and Guidance – Chili Piper has also created a Relocation Document outlining the various options for Ukrainian refugees. The document offers critical information on local procedures for entering new countries, methods of applying for asylum, the rights and obligations of people entering new countries, and more. Chili Piper is developing the document in collaboration with NGOs in Ukraine and in bordering countries to ensure information is validated and up to date. Today, more than 10,000 Ukrainians have used the Relocation Guide.

Currently, Chili Piper’s efforts have supported more than 100,000 Ukrainian refugees. Vandenberghe, a Romanian immigrant who grew up under a communist dictatorship, has spearheaded the efforts. With Romania bordering Ukraine, it is at the center of the refugee crisis. Nearly 120,000 Ukrainians have entered Romania, with nearly 50,000 remaining there.

“This is very personal for me,” said Vandenberghe. “Growing up in Romania, I know what it’s like to go to bed fearing bullets flying overhead as you sleep. With thousands of Ukrainian refugees traveling to and through Romania, we are proud to be able to support them during this period. I will continue using my local connections and knowledge to maximize aid.”
