“At CHERRY, we not only attach great importance to the fact that our products are innovative. Safety and ergonomics also play a central role for us. This is why we commit ourselves to many different certifications in the development and manufacture of our products to provide our customers with the highest security level possible,” says Dieter Klein, VP Business Unit Security & e-Health at CHERRY. “The number of our certifications now exceeds 30, making CHERRY one of the world’s most certified manufacturers of computer input devices – on average, our products have about five to six certifications! That’s why the technology partnership with IGEL was an important part of our strategy to ensure that our products are as secure and compatible as possible.”
For CHERRY, joining the IGEL Ready program means that customers can now rely on being able to securely access CHERRY’s security product solutions from any device equipped with IGEL Technology. For example, the SECURE BOARD 1.0 keyboard enables authentication using smart cards and contactless cards or tags fitted with an RF/NFC interface. In addition, PIN entry is protected by encrypted transmission. This effectively prevents insider attacks with hardware keyloggers and bad USB devices. Another product in CHERRY’s security portfolio is the Fingerprint ID Mouse MC 4900, which offers fast and secure log-on and user authentication with the fingerprint.
