SalesTechStar Interview with Paola Ramirez Gutierrez, Product Manager at Recharge and Co-Founder of Rebundle

Paola Ramirez Gutierrez, Product Manager at Recharge and Co-Founder of Rebundle chats about the benefits of having businesses turn every transitionary process  into a more fruitful customer interaction:

_________

Welcome to this SalesTechStar chat Paola, tell us about yourself and your platforms Recharge and Rebundle…

I’m Paola, co-founder of Rebundle and Product Manager at Recharge. Professionally, I’m a generalist. I started my career as a digital marketer and then got into design and development. I’ve been working directly with DTC brands for most of my professional life.

Before co-founding Rebundle, I was an agency partner to Recharge, helping brands leverage all the customization power Recharge offers to create really unique subscription experiences. While doing this, I saw the need for a turnkey solution to offer customizable bundle subscriptions that would help brands increase their AOV and boost retention. I partnered with Adolfo Builes, and Rebundle was born.

Since the beginning, Recharge was a great partner to us and joining forces was the natural move. Recharge is the leading subscription management solution in the market, powering subscriptions for more than 50 million subscribers across 15,000 merchants, including fast-growing brands such as Verve Coffee, Bokksu, Who Gives A Crap, Bite, Keap Candles, and Bumpin Blends, so the potential for impact is huge.

Tell us more about Bundles?

Bundles is a new Recharge feature that allows brands to offer either a customizable “build-your-box” experience or a curated bundle with preset items.

With customizable bundles, subscribers can personalize each order, picking and choosing the items they love for their next shipment, at a fixed price. With preset bundles, merchants have an easy and intuitive way to design custom product packages and deliver the products they know their customers will love, such as bestsellers, starter kits, and limited edition boxes.

The result is not only a boost in the average order value, but also notably, on subscribers’ engagement and retention.

How are you seeing subscription management platforms change the way brands manage and serve end users? Can you talk about some of the most exciting features in this space to look forward to?

At Recharge, we turn transactions into relationships, and I feel that really describes the role we play in the brand-customer relationship. We provide brands with all the tools they need to not only acquire a new customer, but also nurture the relationship with customers in a way that builds trust and keeps them engaged.

With Bundles for instance, we’re helping brands communicate their expertise through curation, while at the same time giving customers full control to personalize what comes in their order – that’s really key. We’ve seen that empowering customers strengthens loyalty.

The whole ecommerce space is moving further into contextual, personalized shopping, so look forward to features that help you reach your customers where they are and engage with them on a personal level.

With the new acquisition and reposition as Bundles, how will your own network benefit?

Recharge has many features that help merchants including:

  • Advanced tooling like a public API that lets merchants create fully customized experiences
  • A network of tech partners that we integrate with
  • A network of agency partners that specialize in Recharge
  • A community where brands share knowledge

And with the acquisition of Rebundle, all Recharge features are available to brands using Bundles.

When merchants look to personalizing their online journeys for customers, what are some of the top practices they should follow?

1) Meet consumers where they are: Think beyond your online store, and find ways to engage with your customers in the context of their daily lives.

2) Listen to your customers: Proactively seek feedback and take action on it.

3) Leverage data: Listen not only to what customers say, but also to what they do. Use data to tailor your communications and offerings.

4) Find the right balance between curation and personalization: Use your expertise to curate the options your customers are choosing from.

And finally, what are you excited for in the subscriptions and bundling spaces?

Customization and personalization will continue to be key. We’ll see merchants continue to hone in on their curation expertise and find ways to continue to delight and empower their customers, which will be exciting. Personalized shopping will become more prevalent and merchants will continue to tap into ways to meet customers where they are, ultimately strengthening customer loyalty. I’m excited to continue on this journey of empowering merchants through recurring commerce.
