Prior to joining Traction Guest, Berzins led engineering for Starbucks’ loyalty and mobile ordering commerce platform. At global enterprise software company Agilysys Berzins served as the VP of Product Engineering, responsible for driving next generation products that integrated SaaS with hardware for consumer and employee interactions. Previous roles include a decade-long tenure at Microsoft, where Berzins oversaw the delivery of multiple software products and web services to millions of Microsoft customers around the globe. Most recently, he was the vice president of Engineering for Nav.

“Maris has the leadership prowess and track record of driving innovation to take our platform to the next level to help enterprises navigate evolving workforce safety and security requirements. Berzins joins the Traction Guest team at a time when demand for workforce security solutions, including enterprise employee and visitor management systems, is accelerating. Driven by the pandemic, there is tremendous pressure on businesses to provide safe, secure work environments. The 2020 Return-to-Work During the COVID-19 Pandemic Study by Traction Guest found that over half (51.8%) of employees feel that employee and visitor check-in/out systems would make them feel more confident about returning to the workplace amid COVID-19. Moreover, one third of employees reported they will explore new jobs or resign if their employer fails to create a safe in-office work environment during the pandemic.
