Former Workday and Anaplan Executive Joins Swap to Build and Scale the Company’s Global Commercial Organization

Swap, the commerce operating system for the AI era, announced that Michael Douroux has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer. Backed by ICONIQ Growth and DST Global, Swap is accelerating its global growth and expanding its commercial organization to support the next phase of the business. Douroux brings deep experience building global go-to-market organizations at high-growth enterprise software companies.

Douroux spent nearly nine years at Workday, where he was part of the leadership team that helped grow the company from approximately $1.5 billion to nearly $10 billion in revenue. Most recently, he served as Group Vice President of Field Operations for EMEA, overseeing strategy, planning, market expansion, and the infrastructure supporting the region’s revenue organization. During his time at Workday, Douroux also led go-to-market and sales for the company’s Western U.S. business, ran North Europe and Emerging Markets as GVP Sales, and served as General Manager for UK & Ireland. Earlier, he was among the first few hundred employees at Anaplan, helping the company scale during its period of rapid growth. He began his career in leadership roles at Oracle and SAP across North and Latin America.

At Swap, Douroux will oversee the company’s global revenue organization and broader commercial operations, spanning the full go-to-market function. He will focus on expanding Swap’s customer base, strengthening its commercial infrastructure and establishing the operating model to support the company’s growth as AI reshapes how brands and consumers interact online.

“Michael has spent his career growing commercial organizations at exactly the kind of scale and pace we’re building at Swap,” said Sam Atkinson, CEO and Co-Founder of Swap. “He knows how to take a strong product and turn it into a global business, and his experience across markets will be invaluable as we continue expanding. He’s exactly the leader who will take us into our next chapter of growth.”

“Most commerce infrastructure was built for a world that’s disappearing,” said Michael Douroux, Chief Revenue Officer at Swap. “Swap is building for the one arriving – where cross-border complexity gets abstracted away, and AI increasingly runs the transaction end to end. That convergence of commerce, technology and logistics is what makes the opportunity so compelling, and I’m excited to help build the commercial engine to take Swap from category-defining product to category-defining company.”

“We seek to partner with companies that have the potential to define large, enduring markets, and we believe Swap has the product foundation and market opportunity to do exactly that,” said Seth Pierrepont, General Partner at ICONIQ. “In our view, Michael’s track record scaling global go-to-market organizations makes him a strong fit for the company’s next stage of growth.”

Douroux’s appointment follows several recent senior hires at Swap, including Peter O’Higgins as Chief Financial Officer, Piotr Uryga as Chief Technology Officer, and Krzysztof Marcisz as Senior Vice President of Product, strengthening the company’s leadership across finance, technology, and product and signaling a new era of growth.
