Groove Appoints Cisco ThousandEyes Executive Mohit Lad to Board of Directors
Unicorn entrepreneur to help accelerate growth and adoption of Groove’s market-leading sales engagement platform
Groove, a market-leading sales engagement platform for enterprises using Salesforce, announced the appointment of Mohit Lad to the company’s Board of Directors. Mohit currently serves as general manager of ThousandEyes, a Cisco company.
After co-founding ThousandEyes in 2010, he led the company to an acquisition by Cisco in August 2020 and now runs Cisco ThousandEyes as general manager of the Networking Assurance business unit. Under Mohit’s leadership, ThousandEyes has become an integral part of Cisco’s software strategy.

“Groove’s product roadmap continues to focus on innovating for the enterprise by building out its interaction engine and guided-selling capabilities,” the report states. “Reference customers believe they have market-leading capabilities across the board and are likely to refer Groove to peers or enterprises.”
Mohit Lad received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA, where he worked on building systems for Internet fault diagnosis and security. Following just over a year of industry experience with a startup and Nokia, in January 2010, Mohit started ThousandEyes with his Ph.D. colleague Ricardo Oliveira with the vision of building a Google Maps for the Internet. Mohit and Ricardo bootstrapped ThousandEyes with a small NSF grant and focused on growing the company through customer acquisition. During the process, they attracted top venture firms such as Sequoia Capital, Sutter Hill Ventures, Google Ventures, and several others, eventually resulting in a successful sale to Cisco.
