First energy sector deployment applies vision-model document ingestion and agentic reasoning to more than 15,000 Bills of Lading a month across truck, barge, and rail

Seekr, the leader in explainable, defensible AI,announced that Murex LLC, a Plano, Texas-based liquid fuels marketing and logistics company, has deployed SeekrFlow to automate invoice creation from Bills of Lading (BoL) across its truck, barge, vessel, and rail movements. Seekr’s first deployment in the energy sector processes between 10,000 and 15,000 BoLs per month, all of which are added to a searchable natural language corpus.

In liquid fuels marketing, every physical movement generates a BoL recording what shipped, from where, in what quantity, and under whose custody. Those documents arrive from dozens of terminals and carriers as scans, photographs and faxes. Formats vary by origin and mode, and the information they contain must be captured before a load can be invoiced. At the volumes Murex handles, document processing can become a persistent bottleneck between completing a load and issuing an invoice. For Murex, accelerating that process has significant financial impacts with potential annual savings of $1.5M to $2.5M a year in costs the company no longer has to incur.

SeekrFlow uses vision AI to ingest and understand shipping documents, extract the data required for billing, and automatically generate invoices. But the value extends beyond extraction: every document is stored in a knowledge layer that AI agents can reason over, preserving the source context behind each transaction. Teams can reconcile movements against contracts, trace discrepancies to their source, and respond to counterparty questions directly from the underlying documents – without manually searching for and interpreting the original paperwork.

“I spent two and a half years looking at this market, and Seekr is the most innovative and customizable solution I’ve seen,” said Mauricio Ramirez, Chief Financial Officer of Murex. “What stood out was the flexibility – we’re not locking ourselves into one model or betting on which technology will win a market that’s changing by the day. We can use the models that make the most sense for our business, move quickly, and start creating real efficiencies for our team and our customers. We went from back-of-the-napkin conversations to putting the pieces in place in a matter of weeks, when other roadmaps we looked at were six to nine months. Seekr’s commitment to meeting us where we are and their ability to move quickly have given us massive technological efficiencies that streamline our business and provide a higher level of service to our customers.”

“Enterprise AI is moving too quickly for companies to build their strategy around a single model or technology provider,” said Lloyd Cope, CRO of Seekr. “Murex understood that from the start. They wanted to move quickly and create meaningful efficiencies for their business and their customers, without sacrificing the flexibility to use the best models as the market evolves. That’s exactly what Seekr enables: a practical path to putting AI to work today without locking the business into the technology choices of yesterday.”
