Tote’s Genie AI agent gives Loop associates instant access to store policies and procedures, an early proof point for AI-native associate support in convenience retail
Tote, the AI-native point-of-sale platform built for fuel and convenience retail, announced a deployment of Genie, Tote’s Store Associate AI Agent, with Loop Neighborhood Markets. Since launch, associates have used Genie to handle inquiries on customer service, POS operations, maintenance, payments, and more, with zero escalations and 100% first-contact resolution.
Founded in 2013 as a premium neighborhood market, Loop has built its identity around fresh food, car washes, and the LoopBack Rewards loyalty program. Delivering that experience consistently across shifts and locations depends on associates having the right knowledge at the right moment. Genie closes that gap.

In an industry defined by high turnover and training challenges, technology that meets associates where they are makes all the difference. Genie does this, making dusty binders a thing of the past, shortening training time, ensuring compliance to procedures, and eliminating the need to escalate to busy store managers for answers to routine questions.
“We’re not interested in AI that just looks good in a pitch. Tote’s Genie agent works in our stores, gives our associates the answers they need in the moment, and delivers results from day one. This is just the beginning of what agentic technology can do for our business,” said Varish Goyal, President and CEO, Loop Neighborhood Markets
Genie is available around the clock, supports multiple languages, and works via voice and chat, so every associate gets answers whenever or however they need them. Tote’s architecture is modular by design. Loop deployed Genie independently of their point-of-sale system, bringing AI-native associate support to their stores without overhauling existing technology infrastructure.
Agents are beginning to take actions and execute transactions autonomously, with the next phase pointing toward agents communicating and coordinating with other agents. What was once theoretical is now moving into real-world deployment. For Tote, the rollout is an early proof point of what AI-native associate support looks like in a live production environment and a concrete step toward a broader vision where agents handle operational workflows end to end.

“Loop is exactly the kind of operator that makes this work. Varish and his team hold technology to a high standard, and they’ve pushed us to make Genie genuinely useful at the store level. Deploying with zero escalations and 100% first-contact resolution from day one is not a beta result. That is a production result, and it reflects what AI in convenience retail can actually deliver when it is built the right way” added Shyam Rao, Founder and CEO, Tote
Tote continues to expand its AI-native platform across the fuel and convenience sector, with additional capabilities and retail partners expected to be announced in 2026.
