Former Microsoft Frontier AI Lab leader joins as Turing closes the loop between frontier AI research and enterprise deployment
Turing, the superintelligence accelerator that drives real economic progress from AI, announced that Ece Kamar has been named Chief Technology Officer. Kamar will lead Turing’s technology and research strategy across the company’s frontier AI and enterprise AI businesses, sharpening the link between what frontier labs need next and how enterprises put that innovation to work.
Kamar joins Turing after 16 years at Microsoft, where she most recently served as Corporate Vice President leading the AI Frontiers Lab at Microsoft Research, a non-geographical, mission-focused lab that explores innovations in foundation models and platform capabilities to push the frontier of AI capabilities, efficiency and control. In that role, she drove Microsoft’s research in AI technologies from models to agentic AI, building bridges between research and product and delivering both technology and high-performing teams to advance Microsoft’s mission. Kamar holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Sabanci University.

Turing’s work spans two businesses that both depend on turning frontier research into real-world impact: helping the world’s leading AI labs to improve model capabilities in software engineering, enterprise knowledge work, and frontier STEM, and helping Fortune 500 companies deploy and scale agentic AI systems with full sovereignty and governance. In her role as CTO, Kamar will help shape Turing’s research agenda across both businesses, including new work on how AI agents collaborate with each other and with the people they support.
