The acquisition adds a proven enterprise AI platform to Cognida’s services-plus-software model for building intelligent, connected, and auditable accounting operations
Cognida announced that it has acquired Automate, an enterprise AI platform for accounting and operational workflows, from Within (formerly Klarity). Financial terms were not disclosed.

Automate applies AI to complex, high-accountability accounting and operational workflows within quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay, including ASC 606 revenue accounting, contract review and deal-desk operations, order management, invoice and expense processing, purchase-order matching, and compliance. The platform turns contracts and business information into auditable decisions and actions by applying accounting policies, enterprise rules, and controls; routing exceptions and approvals; and integrating with core ERP and CRM systems.
Proven in production across large public companies, PE-backed enterprises, and high-growth private technology companies, Automate has processed millions of business documents in controlled, auditable accounting and operational workflows where accuracy and accountability are essential. The acquisition brings Cognida an established software platform, deep accounting and operations expertise, an experienced team, and trusted enterprise relationships. It also advances Cognida’s evolution as an AI-native enterprise solutions company combining services, software, domain expertise, and owned intellectual property.

Accelerating Automate’s next chapter
Automate will continue as a distinct product offering within Cognida, with the existing leadership and team in place. As part of Cognida, customers will benefit from expanded engineering and customer-success capacity, deeper and faster integrations, and accelerated development of AI-powered capabilities across accounting and operations.
The entire Automate team is joining Cognida, preserving important product, domain, implementation, and customer knowledge. Nick Tiscornia continues as general manager of Automate and Rama Pagadala as senior vice president of engineering. Together, they will lead the business into its next phase, combining Automate’s accounting-domain expertise with Cognida’s broader AI engineering, data-platform, transformation, integration, and customer-success capabilities.

Cognida had worked directly with Automate before the transaction, giving it firsthand knowledge of the platform, its implementation environment, its team, and the needs of its customers. That shared history supports a smooth transition, allowing the combined team to move quickly on the product roadmap and new customer opportunities.

For Within, the transaction sharpens the company’s focus on its core platform while placing Automate with an organization equipped to invest in it.
