“Data security and privacy is increasingly essential in our current economic and business climate. Earning the SOC 2 certification attests that Flow Networks is committed to protecting customer data and system resources against unauthorized access. Flow Networks will continue to invest in building a secure platform that all customers and partners can trust,” said Flow Networks Co-Founder Chris Boncimino.
Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC 2 is designed for service providers storing customer data in the cloud and outlines a set of procedures, policies and controls that must be followed to protect this data.
Flow Networks achieved SOC 2 certification by partnering with Johanson Group LLP, an independent auditor, and Vanta, an automated cloud-based compliance platform, for the Security, Availability and Confidentiality Trust Service Categories.

“After much searching and vendor comparison, Flow Networks selected Vanta’s SOC 2 platform, which provides continuous systems monitoring and the ability to easily share reports with customers. The Vanta team also introduced Flow Networks to a few auditors familiar with their platform. Flow Networks selected Johanson Group LLP to partner with as they have experience in the fintech industry and were able to advise on which Trust Service Categories to implement. The SOC 2 process has helped Flow Networks create a solid foundation for their security and data policies and provides real time notification when controls fall out of compliance,” said Flow Networks Head of Client Operations Brett Willson.
It’s been a busy month for Flow Networks, both announcing the introduction of new advisor Don Kingsborough, a retail tech veteran, and the inaugural implementation of the Flow Platform at San Francisco’s Ace Wasabi restaurant in partnership with Copper. The Flow Networks team is also present at Money 20/20 this week.
The Flow Platform is an intuitive and powerful platform built on top of any payment feed, enabling card issuers and merchants to engage with customers, multiple times a day, based on the customer’s real-time payment behavior. This new level of merchant-customer connectivity reduces waste, increases engagement, and builds brand value.
