Syniverse Strengthens Customer and Product Centricity to Propel Future Growth

Transformation will make Syniverse more efficient, easier to work with, and better equipped to solve customer challenges

Syniverse announced organizational changes to improve the value the company brings to customers and position itself for future growth. The company will combine its Carrier and Enterprise business units into two new teams focused on revenue and product. The streamlined organization will improve customer centricity, reduce complexity, drive innovation, and improve ways of working, advancing the organization’s strategic goals and financial objectives.

“This new structure allows Syniverse to drive operational efficiencies, eliminate silos and duplicative processes, and better focus on our customers and how we are delivering innovative solutions to their business challenges,” said Andrew Davies, Chief Executive Officer of Syniverse. “We’re building on the momentum we’ve seen in customer satisfaction and implementing the framework we need to establish even stronger connections with our customers and enhance the experience we deliver to them.”

As part of this transformation, Harry Patz Jr., who joined Syniverse in March, has been appointed Chief Revenue Officer and will oversee all sales, marketing, business development, and related go-to-market functions. John Wick has been named Chief Product Officer and will lead product strategy, research and development, delivery, and product management.

“Harry and John both have a deep understanding of our business and a relentless commitment to our mission, making them ideal leaders to carry us into the future,” said Davies. “Harry is a proven executive with a long history of driving growth, and he is passionate about a customer-centric approach and building a more cohesive go-to-market team. With 30 years at Syniverse, John understands the full scope of our product and solution offerings. Under their guidance, our company will continue to reimagine the possibilities of how we can work together more efficiently and ensure we’re leveraging our product expertise across the business.”

John McRae, President, Carrier Business Unit, was integral to the design of the company’s new structure, and with this change, decided to transition from the business after 14 years at Syniverse. He will step down in late September to ensure a smooth transition.

“In his 14 years at Syniverse, John’s exceptional leadership was integral to our success, and the wisdom and expertise he’s contributed to our transformation plans mean he will continue to influence our future,” said Davies. “On behalf of the entire company, I want to thank John for his endless contributions, insight, and friendship over the years.”

With the changes, Syniverse will be eliminating approximately 95 positions globally. Syniverse will also reduce its footprint in some geographies where it has very small employee populations.

“Decisions to reduce our headcount are never taken lightly, and we’ve given them great consideration,” said Davies. “It’s never easy to lose talented people, but we’re confident that our leadership team and organizational structure is the optimal design to achieve our strategic goals, optimize our portfolio, and deliver superior solutions for our customers.”
