Jumpmind technology supports the global brand’s 450 store locations throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K.

Jumpmind, Inc., a leading provider of innovative retail technology solutions, today announced the successful deployment of its cloud-native, mobile-first Point of Sale (POS) and CX Connect interactive customer engagement solution to enrich end-to-end in-store experiences at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. (NYSE: BBW) retail stores worldwide.

Originally conceived as a place for children to create their own special teddy bear with a step-by-step process, including its now iconic Heart Ceremony, Build-A-Bear is now a multi-generational, multi-dimensional global brand appealing to diverse consumer demographics. Build-A-Bear celebrates 26 years of adding heart, hugs, creativity, laughter, fun and friendship through the making of more than 225 million furry friends around the world.

At Build-A-Bear Workshop, kids – and kids at heart – make their way through a hands-on, interactive process to create their very own, personalized furry friends. Guests are supported by a Bear Builder® associate to walk them through each step, from choosing a furry friend, to stuffing it with love and partaking in the signature heart ceremony.

To cater to the highly experiential needs of Build-A-Bear Workshop guests across its 450+ retail store locations worldwide, the retailer teamed with Jumpmind to enhance its in-store retail engagement, providing Build-A-Bear store associates with tools to deliver “memorable moments” via an engaging and inspired process all the way through to checkout that is beyond ordinary.

Running Jumpmind CX Connect interactive customer displays on iPad devices, Build-A-Bear store associates have all the tools at their fingertips to provide one-to-one personalized customer engagement. The solution compliments Build-A-Bear’s implementation of Jumpmind Commerce, Jumpmind’s cloud-native, mobile-first POS solution, allowing Bear Builder associates to collaborate with guests as they make their own unique furry friends from building, dressing and accessorizing the plush during the full guest experience.

The company has completed its Jumpmind rollout in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., and will rollout Jumpmind to stores in additional geographies in the new year.

“Our Bear Builder store associates are a vital part of the Build-A-Bear Workshop experience,” said Dara Meath, Chief Technology Officer at Build-A-Bear. “Our commitment to providing our associates with the most advanced in-store retail technology ensures they are not only given a 360-degree view of our guests, their previous interactions and preferences, but also can offer a shared interactive and personalized journey to enrich each guest’s visit. As we continue to evolve as a retail experience location for our guests, our in-store retail technology transformation ensures we continue to create unique and memorable experiences that foster emotional connections with the Build-A-Bear brand.”

“We extend a warm welcome to Build-A-Bear in joining the Jumpmind family of progressive retailers that are leveraging their store environments for competitive differentiation and bringing the best of digital retailing together with brick and mortar,” said Joe Corbin, President and CEO of Jumpmind. “Bear Builders are now empowered to deliver seamless and valued-added experiences that are as unique and special as the Build-A-Bear brand, from the moment guests walk into the store until the time they walk out with their new furry friend and a smile.”
