Nylas Expands Platform to Include Intelligent Workflow Automations for Communications Data, Adds Slack and Twilio Executives as Board Advisors

Developer API platform announces new capabilities to help companies quickly build productivity features in their applications and taps industry veterans for advisory board.

Nylas, a pioneer and leading provider of Productivity Infrastructure solutions for software development, today announced expansions to its developer API platform. These additions bring new AI-powered workflow automations triggered by the communications data that developers extract from their end-users’ inboxes, calendars, and contacts using Nylas’ industry-leading suite of APIs.

“I’m excited to lend my experience to Nylas and help the team continue to make it easy for developers to bring new solutions to their customers without sacrificing performance, reliability, security, or scalability.”

Nylas’ new platform capabilities include the ability to extract and parse data from unstructured sources such as emails, images, and attachments; smart filtering, categorization, and routing of incoming messages to recipients based on criteria like importance and sender; detection of key information from users’ communications and enrichment of applications and databases; automated sending of emails with near-perfect deliverability rates; and secure synchronization of users’ interaction data with 3rd party systems.

“To date, Nylas has helped over 50,000 developers worldwide quickly and securely build productivity features in their applications,” said Gleb Polyakov, CEO and Co-Founder of Nylas. “These new platform capabilities will allow developers to compose entirely new products and features that leverage the power of their users’ communications data while avoiding the cost and complexity of building their own integrations, workflows, and security features.”

In addition to the new platform capabilities, Nylas also announced that Allan Leinwand, SVP of Engineering at Slack, and Marc Boroditsky, Chief Revenue Officer at Twilio, have joined the company as Board Advisors.

“Nylas’ innovative approach to the developer API ecosystem has made it easy for companies of all sizes to launch new productivity features with unprecedented velocity,” said Leinwand. “I’m excited to lend my experience to Nylas and help the team continue to make it easy for developers to bring new solutions to their customers without sacrificing performance, reliability, security, or scalability.”

“The developer API economy has fundamentally transformed the way software is built and driven extraordinary economic value across nearly every industry,” said Boroditsky. “Nylas’ focus on fully-composable, API-defined solutions for improving end user productivity are unique, and I am happy to help with their go-to-market strategy.”

These announcements come after the recent news of Nylas raising a $25M Series B financing round, the acquisition of New York-based start-up June.ai, and the release of the first-ever program to simplify the Google OAuth verification process and security assessment for developers.
