Pragmatic Conferencing Launches First Cloud Video Platform as a Service
Pragmatic Conferencing is announcing a revolutionary new Video Conferencing service model. Powered by Polycom (now Poly), the RP1Cloud video conferencing solution is available to partners as RP1PaaS, a Platform-as-a-Service. Partners purchase an aggregate pool of connections, create service plans via included commercial software, and then sell their branded virtual meeting room configurations at the price that makes sense in their markets.
“The RP1PaaS program enables ITSP and AV partners to compete head to head with other cloud video providers in an increasingly crowded market” said Michael Robertson, SVP of Sales and Global Channels. This lowest-cost model allows partners to bundle the service with complementary offers like voice, network, and O365 services.
Partners can expect to achieve margins upward of 70%, and fully own the customer relationship, billing, and renewals year after year. Pragmatic can have the entire branded RP1PaaS up and running with the solution in approximately 30 days.
A Program Built for Partners
There are traditionally only two choices available to resellers of video conferencing services: resell someone else’s brand and receive a commission, or to build, manage, and monitor your own service. “Pragmatic believes that we can provide the best of both models with the RP1PaaS Program,” says Pragmatic Conferencing CEO James Baskin. He adds, “Our team has created an entire program around lead generation, communication, and support documentation to enable partners and customers to be successful.”
For reseller organizations in North America that prefer to purchase from distribution, Pragmatic is in the final stages of negotiation with Ingram Micro to distribute the RP1PaaS service.
An All-Inclusive Service
“We’ve built the RP1PaaS program to give our partners everything they need to sell the solution, including sales training, business models, marketing support and resource center. It’s all available through our vendor portal, and is included in the connections buy-in,” says Shelley Rajput, Director of Sales at Pragmatic. “There are no hidden costs or additional fees.”
RP1Cloud PaaS partners brand the platform, and provision the service through their private instance vendor portal. They have access to all usage statistics to enable billing and trend reporting. Partners provide the first tier of support for their customers, with the Pragmatic Customer Success team available for ticket escalation.
New features on the horizon
In addition to today’s exciting announcement, the in-house development team has road-mapped several new functionalities to enhance the service soon. Stay tuned for:
- A new WebRTC-based browser experience, enabling a seamless join-flow in any web browser with no plug-in or launcher client
- API integration for existing customer portal solutions
- A complete billing and invoicing option, including full call rating and MRC capabilities
- Extend the current native platform integration with Microsoft Skype for Business to include Microsoft Teams
