“Last season, we asked a set of six million-dollar questions that every GBS leader wants to know as a way of grounding where we were on the way to building world-class shared services organizations,” Narahari said. “This time, we turn our attention to the future to understand how shared services will evolve in the next 10 years.”

The pandemic intensified the efforts of GBS organizations to balance the work of in-house staff and outsourced partners and forced executives to consider how the future of GBS might look.

“I believe that the development of talent is paramount to the future of GBS,” said Season 2 guest Cindy Gallagher, SVP, Shared Services at Gannett. “One of the best tools we can give our talent is access to the thoughts and experiences of those who have spent their career in the weeds, while also giving them permission to push boundaries and explore new ways of working.”
