CDI (Computer Design & Integration) Acquires Leading DMV-Based Integrator, Managed IT, and Cloud Services Provider, Clearpath Solutions Group

Continued growth on the east coast with a focus on key partners and internal culture

“Without question, our two companies align from a culture perspective, an understanding of the marketplace, and a ‘client success first’ approach to doing business”

This acquisition falls in line with the CDI’s east coast expansion, emphasizing the importance of the D.C./Maryland/Virginia region after purchasing mid-Atlantic companies Plan B Technologies, P5 Solutions, and Kintyre. With the addition of High Availability and Candoris in PA, an expanded team into Boston, and an office opening in Florida earlier this year, the company has more than doubled in employee count and revenue in less than two years and has secured its foothold throughout the east coast. In addition, CDI International was added with offices in England and Ireland to service clients with international presence.

Beyond geographical expansion, CDI is focused on key partnerships, including Dell Technologies, Cisco and VMware, each of which is also a strategic partner at Clearpath, a Dell Gold level partner, Cisco Gold level partner, and a VMware Premiere partner. The combined expertise and partnership levels will help strengthen partner relationships as well as the ability to best serve clients. The companies’ similar consultative approach toward working with customers and commitment to growing new relationships with emerging technology providers is evident in their corporate cultures.

“The acquisition of Clearpath accomplishes two simple things,” said Rich Falcone, CEO & President, CDI. “It further expands our investment in the mid-Atlantic region, which we feel is underserved from a next-gen integrator perspective. Additionally, the Clearpath team brings tremendous talent, focus and scale in critical data center areas where our two teams united will simply be better together. The two organizations will also leverage our combined managed services offerings, and the CDI digital portfolio will be additive to the Clearpath service catalog.” He continued, “Beyond all of that, culture is what determines the outcome of integration and the Clearpath team simply fits our One CDI culture.”

Founded in 2006, Clearpath was founded by a group of entrepreneurial storage veterans who launched a commercial technology offering end-to-end integration services. In just a few years, they added the Clearpath Cloud Services offering, providing compute, desktop, storage, and managed services. The company’s growth earns it a spot on Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 500 list of the fastest-growing companies in America, as well as the CRN Tech Elite 250 list and a Triple Crown Award from CRN, which focuses on revenue and growth.

“Without question, our two companies align from a culture perspective, an understanding of the marketplace, and a ‘client success first’ approach to doing business,” stated Gary Vaughan, CEO and President at Clearpath. “Rich and the executive team at CDI have built an amazing company with great vision and we are all excited for the Clearpath team to participate in the execution of that vision.”
