The Apptopus is a startup transforming the climate of online ordering and delivery for mom-and-pop restaurants
The ApptopusĀ announces the launch of its new platform that helps mom and pop owned restaurants launch and maintain their online orders, delivery orders from Grubhub, Uber Eats, Doordash and process prepaid phone orders.
The Apptopus builds and optimizes restaurants’ menus so customers can customize their items, resulting in higher spending per order, higher customer satisfaction, streamlined menus across all applications and less confusion in the kitchen.

The startup was born out of necessity. The founder of The Apptopus, Daniel Hernandez, says he watched his mom, who has a real gift for making delicious food, work endless hours to open her first restaurant. COVID hit during the first few weeks of her grand opening. “My mom was devastated,” said Hernandez. “She opened her business with the misconception that having a physical location was enough for customers to find her. She didn’t think about online orders, social media, or delivery. I suggested that she join a couple of delivery applications, however that task proved incredibly complicated. Orders would often come in with confusing special requests, and if not fulfilled she had to pay “Error charges” on top of the excessively high 30% commission fees.”
The Apptopus solves many of the struggles small restaurant owners face with the rise of online ordering and delivery. They help restaurants manage all this chaos from one single dashboard. “We eliminate commission, we provide an account manager to help with any issues restaurants might not be able to solve on their own. It’s like having an entire e-commerce marketing team for a fraction of the cost,” added the founder.
In recent years online ordering and food delivery have skyrocketed in popularity. Restaurant industry in the US alone is $863billion and online ordering and food delivery global market is expected to reach $200 billion by 2025. For restaurants, this has come as a new opportunity to reach consumers. The Apptopus is in a perfect position to facilitate this rise of online ordering, and help restaurants increase revenue through partnering with their virtual management service.
