New B2B Scanning App Speeds Inventory and Reorders for Chef’s Warehouse

New B2B Scanning App Speeds Inventory and Reorders for Chef’s Warehouse

Custom-Built by Unbound Commerce, the App Speeds Inventory and B2B Order Placement

Leading mobile solution provider Unbound Commerce announced the launch of a new, innovative mobile scanning app for Chef’s Warehouse, purpose-built for inventory management and rapid wholesale re-order placement. Chef’s Warehouse will be providing this tool to select wholesale customers.

The new app is used by employees to scan items that need to be inventoried and then re-ordered. The scanner devices are linked to the new custom app by Bluetooth and wholesale re-orders are placed directly into The Chef’s Warehouse B2B ecommerce operations. Inventory data can also be managed and sent.

The app was created by gathering input from grocery store employees, who wanted a faster, better way to check store shelves and re-order items carried by The Chef’s Warehouse, without having to manually tabulate them.

“We wanted this new tool for key strategic customers”, said Katie Tomechko, Digital Product Managers at The Chef’s Warehouse. “We heard that employees were seeking a more-efficient way to inventory and re-order our products, so we engaged our mobile app partner Unbound Commerce to build a bespoke solution, just for this purpose”, she added.

Chef’s Warehouse already has a powerful B2B app for wholesale ordering and this scanner app is another arrow in their digital/mobile quiver.

Training is ongoing and full roll-out of the app to grocery employees at select accounts will be completed by the end of summer. Wholesale orders are already flowing through the new app into The Chef’s Warehouse B2B operations, and early statistics show reduced error rates and faster re-order placement.
