“Alation’s integration with Snowflake helps joint customers scale their data-driven initiatives with confidence”

Alation’s built-in integration for Snowflake allows joint customers to centrally manage data policies, protect data assets, and comply with governance rules at a granular level from a single-pane-of-glass view. The integration increases transparency with data controls, and links those controls to policies in Snowflake. This makes maintaining industry compliance and regulatory standards dramatically simple. Selection for the Data Governance Accelerated Program comes after the recent release of Alation’s new Data Governance App, which enhances data governance capabilities for the Snowflake Data Cloud.

“Alation and Snowflake’s integration empowers Texas Mutual Insurance to be more data-driven and will improve our policy process,” said Anthony Seraphim, Vice President of Data Governance, Texas Mutual Insurance Company. “In the future, our data team will centrally manage and audit Snowflake data policies in Alation, ensuring that data is protected. It’s a critical component as we use data to develop better products and services for our customers and keep private data protected.”

“Fifth Third Bank and Alation continue to have a tremendous partnership resulting in accelerated business outcomes, improved data management, and an enhanced data culture,” said Nate Murray, Chief Data Officer, Fifth Third Bank. “Alation’s ability to integrate with diverse source systems drove adoption of the platform and enabled Fifth Third to create a true data marketplace for the enterprise. Snowflake and Alation’s integration resulted in increased confidence that our data is well managed, regardless of landing zone.”

Today’s news is the latest milestone in Snowflake and Alation’s growing partnership. In June, Alation announced a $110 million Series D funding round that included a strategic investment from Snowflake Ventures to expand the value proposition for Snowflake and Alation customers. Alation was also named Snowflake’s Data Governance partner of the year and was recognized for helping joint customers easily search, discover, analyze, and govern data critical to their businesses. In September, Alation partnered with Snowflake to be the first companies to achieve assessment under the new Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) standard, which is sponsored by the EDM Council and verified by KPMG.
