Hadi, a renowned expert on blockchain technology, has provided testimony and briefings to Congress over the past two years on how blockchain technology can help better secure elections, dramatically enhance data privacy, improve and secure Congressional operations and help small businesses streamline and better secure digital transactions. Hadi is also a founding member of the Association for Data and Cyber Governance (ADCG).

Hadi today endorsed the Information Transparency and Personal Data Control Act, authored by U.S. Rep. Suzan Delbene (D-WA). The bill would create a national data privacy standard to protect people’s most personal information and bring data privacy laws into the 21st Century. “I applaud Congresswoman Delbene for introducing this legislation and for her visionary leadership on data privacy issues,” said Hadi. “The United States urgently needs to pass a strong national data privacy law that will give confidence to all U.S. consumers that their data is safe and secure. Congresswoman Delbene’s legislation is an important step in the right direction,” added Hadi.

“As the CEO of a company that lives and breathes consumer data privacy and security, it is so encouraging to see elected officials like Congresswoman Delbene taking positive action to move the U.S. to do more when it comes to national standards for data privacy and securing consumers personal information online,” asserted Hadi.

“These kind of legislative initiatives are important to the continued growth of the online economy precisely because the online economy is built on trust and security,” said Hadi. “Europe has taken the lead in this area with the implementation of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation,” noted Hadi. “It is incumbent upon Congress to act thoughtfully and expeditiously to pass legislation to establish reasonable and effective national data privacy standards. Our economic future depends on it,” concluded Hadi.
