“Australia is a breeding ground for successful ecommerce brands, and ShipBob is uniquely positioned to help businesses expand their footprint across various sales channels and geographies,” said Deront. “As more and more Australian and New Zealand brands look to reach a global customer base, ShipBob’s offering of best-in-class fulfilment services and its logistics platform in Australia continues to set an industry standard, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I can’t wait to build the future success of the Australian ShipBob office.”
According to the International Trade Association, Australia’s ecommerce sales are growing rapidly, up 15.5 percent year over year and making it the eleventh largest ecommerce market in the world. With revenue predicted to reach AUD 46.44 million by 2024, this makes the Deront hire vital to leading ShipBob’s capabilities, as the market continues expanding quickly.
In the 2022 edition of ShipBob’s State of Ecommerce Fulfilment Report, ShipBob found that more than 70% of ecommerce brands surveyed will add a new sales channel in 2022 and nearly 32% plan to start physically fulfilling orders in new countries in 2022. Despite supply chain challenges, expansion and internationalisation remain top priorities for ecommerce brands that want to get in front of new audiences and provide a positive customer experience.
