Cybersecurity Veteran to Lead Research Division at Semperis to Develop Identity-Centric Behavioral Models of Cyberattacks and Enhance the Cyber Resiliency of Hybrid Identity Stores
Semperis, the pioneer of identity-driven cyber resilience for enterprises, announced the appointment of Igor Baikalov as chief scientist. The former Bank of America executive joins Semperis with more than 30 years of experience in data analysis and enterprise application development in areas including insider threat and risk monitoring. As chief scientist, he will lead Semperis’ research division and focus on applying identity analytics and machine learning to develop identity-centric models of cyberattacks and enhance the cyber resiliency of hybrid identity stores. Baikalov’s appointment caps off a year of record growth for Semperis. The company was named to Deloitte’s 2020 Technology Fast 500™ and announced the addition of Rob Porell as chief financial officer earlier this month.

Former Bank of America executive, Igor Baikalov, joins @SemperisTech as chief scientist

A scientist turned well-respected industry executive, Baikalov previously served as senior vice president, global information security at Bank of America, where he was responsible for developing security intelligence and risk analytics solutions. During his time at Bank of America, Baikalov was instrumental in helping create advanced solutions for predictive analytics, risk-based access governance and proactive data protection. Most recently, Baikalov held the role of chief scientist at Securonix, where he led development of behavioral models of cyberattacks and automated large-scale detection of cyberthreats. Baikalov is an author of nine scientific publications and ten commercial patents. He holds a doctorate in molecular biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), a Master of Science in biophysics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and maintains CISSP certification.
