New executive-level leader to focus on driving value-add business outcomes
DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc. , the cloud for developers, startups and SMBs, announced the appointment of Megan Wood to chief strategy officer, a newly-created role and reporting to CEO Yancey Spruill. As chief strategy officer, Wood will be instrumental in driving value-add business outcomes for the company.
“Managing the dynamic process of building and executing strategy is vital to keeping our teams aligned on delivering near and long-term business objectives,” said Yancey Spruill, CEO of DigitalOcean. “Megan’s impact during her time at DigitalOcean and her background in running corporate strategy at previous organizations make her an ideal fit for this critical role to drive organic and inorganic execution at DigitalOcean.”

As the company has grown over the last few years, and with future growth goals in mind, this additional executive position will be key to driving alignment on business strategy and execution. The scope of the chief strategy officer includes, among other things, corporate development, strategy and strategy deployment, business operations, program management, and data analytics.

For the last year, Wood has been leading DigitalOcean’s business operations and analytics functions, focused on driving cross-functional growth initiatives. Before joining DigitalOcean, she led strategy and corporate development at NerdWallet and Maxar and was previously a consultant at Bain & Company. Wood has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
