Gongos Inc., a Michigan-based consultative agency, has been recognized by Forbes as a “Small Giant”—one of America’s Best Small Companies in 2020— for their people-first over business-first ethos.
The “Small Giants” award is a partnership between the leading national business publication Forbes and the Small Giants Community, a business enterprise created to identify, connect, and develop purpose-driven leaders. The annual list is designed to identify and celebrate privately owned businesses that have sound business models and steady profits, and also demonstrate distinctive company cultures, as well as commitment to strong client partnerships, industry relations, and community involvement.

“Just after Bo Burlingham published ‘Small Giants,’ Gongos had experienced its first growth spurt—and when I say spurt, I mean moving from 40 to 46 employees,” said Nicita. “It was a monumental time for us in that as a company we were expanding our footprint, yet we made a commitment to never lose our cultural footing. Fifteen years later, with 146 employees, we are still as purpose-driven as we were then and our employees are a shining example of espousing an owner’s mindset while emphasizing great work as a precursor to growth.”
“The Small Giants philosophy exemplifies what we stand for as a company,” she adds. “To be in the company of other Small Giants is an incredible honor that holds deep meaning for us—and for me personally.”
