Workplace by Facebook has become a hot spot with a host of integrations getting announced. BlueJeans, a cloud based video communication service that connects room systems, mobile devices, and desktops into one meeting, has announced a latest integration with Workplace. With the integration, Workplace users will now be able to start a BlueJeans meeting by just adding @BlueJeans to their Workplace Chat. This robust combination means users will now have extended flexibility in chats and it also improves the effectiveness of face-to-face communications.
Executive Speak
John Knightly, SVP, Product and Solution Marketing, BlueJeans, says, “Chat is one of the most commonly used features in Workplace, and Facebook just made it even more valuable. Because employees have questions that often require complex explanations, or co-workers need to see each other face-to-face to make key decisions, there should be a mechanism to instantly connect from Chat without killing the conversation to go find a room or toggle between technologies. With the new BlueJeans integration with Workplace Chat, immersive collaboration is seamless.”
More on the Integration
As mentioned above, an addition of @BlueJeans is enough to launch an enriched, multi-party video meeting within a Workplace Chat window. Users can call upon bots straight from the feature of Workplace Chat Extensions. When the integration is successfully installed throughout an enterprise, users will be able to invite multiple parties or individuals to share their screens just as they do in BlueJeans meetings. With @BlueJeans command, users can now save time of theirs and their colleagues. It also sets them free form the complications and frustrations arising from switching of apps during meetings.
The all-new chat function adds on the already existing integration between BlueJeans and Workplace with which users can:
- Administer interactive video meets to ensure higher levels of engagement
- Make presentations using BlueJeans and share content through Workplace simultaneously
- Broadcast events form multiple parties irrespective of device or location
- Materialize relevant conversations and content which will be accessible to the right people
- Leverage Workplace as a warehouse for meetings keeping group members updated 24/7 and allowing them to refer to past discussions whenever required
Team Collaboration Apps Space Getting Competitive
Apart from BlueJeans, HubSpot, Hootsuite, and Looker have also announced integrations with Workplace by Facebook. These integrations are an indication of the amount of steam team collaboration tools and apps are gathering. They are destined to gather further steam in times ahead with stiffer competition in a space which apart from Workplace involves players like Slack, Glip, Hive, Fuze, Spark (by Cisco), Google Hangouts, HipChat, LogMeIn and many others.
