As supply chains of all types continue to be disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ability to procure new refrigerators, freezers and other household appliances may not return any time soon. Also, consumer electronics and automotive manufacturers are ahead of appliances for receipt of control boards and their associated components, so we are likely to experience appliance shortages through at least the first half of 2021.”

As Healy noted, a working appliance can mean a huge difference to a family’s ability to stick to a budget.

“Many families today may not have the means to buy a new appliance, even if they could find one. Repairs using a remanufactured part can extend the life of an appliance because the remanufactured part has been restored to its original specifications. The result often is better in quality, reliability and robustness than the original part,” he said. “We have 200 highly trained essential employees who have worked throughout the pandemic to keep these vital parts and components in circulation.
