Tropic, the all-in-one SaaS procurement platform that helps companies optimize their software spend, announced the addition of Kristy McCown, Head of Partnerships, and Patrick Unnold, SVP of Customer Experience, to its executive team. The leadership additions will accelerate Tropic’s momentum in the market, with revenue quadrupling and customer growth doubling year-over-year. McCown and Unnold will be responsible for leading the company’s continued growth across the partnership and customer teams.
“To support our continued growth, we are committed to investing in our own capabilities in the areas of innovation and excellence by welcoming two phenomenal leaders with unmatched credentials,” said David Campbell, CEO and co-founder of Tropic. “I’m thrilled to have Kristy and Patrick join our leadership team, reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and developing strong strategic partnerships.”

Kristy is joining Tropic to lead partnerships and will be focused on building channel, product, and payment partnerships. She joins Tropic from Klarna, where she led North America partnerships. Prior to Klarna, Kristy managed financial partnerships at Stripe and held partnership and procurement roles within Google and GlaxoSmithKline.
Patrick’s focus will be on scaling and growing Tropic’s Account Management, Customer Success and Commercial Executive teams to drive superior outcomes for its customers. Patrick is considered an expert in growth strategy and has led post-sales teams at Recurly, OneLogin, Zimbra, and VMware.
“In the world of SaaS, sellers have nearly all the power in large part due to the information asymmetry around pricing and the complex nature of software buying,” said Campbell. “By expanding Tropic’s leadership team, we can continue to put the buyer at the center, empowering companies with everything they need to achieve software procurement excellence and turn their software spend into a sustainable competitive advantage.”
