Blue.cloud Taps Brian Alvarez as ‘EVP, Corporate Development,’ a New, Growth-Focused Leadership Position at the Company

Former CEO of business services company will lead development efforts to support Blue.cloud’s accelerated growth

Blue.cloud, the cloud-only digital transformation company, today announced that Brian Alvarez has joined the organization as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, a new, growth-focused leadership position. A former U.S. Army Intelligence officer, CEO and investor, Mr. Alvarez will lead the charge in identifying, evaluating and executing new acquisition opportunities, investor partnerships and major financing activities that will position Blue.cloud optimally for its continued rapid expansion and leadership in the fast growing data and analytics space.

Mr. Alvarez, who will relocate from California to Tampa Bay, FL where Blue.cloud is headquartered, brings more than 12 years of leadership experience to the company as a finance professional and CEO, as well as a field grade officer in the U.S. Army. Prior to joining Blue.cloud, he was CEO of a private equity backed business services company and led the organization through significant growth and professionalization. Before that, he worked at a Boston-based private equity firm and the Chicago-based middle-market investment bank, Lincoln International. Alvarez also served for several years as an Army Intelligence Officer and is currently a Major in the Army Reserves.

In 2016, Alvarez founded an investment vehicle for a search fund acquisition, focusing on small- to mid-sized businesses. He has invested in business services and technology companies across the country and serves as an advisor to multiple search fund investors and CEOs. Mr. Alvarez holds an economics degree from West Point and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
